April 7th to 9th, 2005 | Riga

Since 2002 the actuarial associations of Austria, Germany,
The Netherlands and Switzerland have organized seminars on actuarial
topics. These seminars want to provide a platform for actuaries
from Central and East Europe where they can extend their knowledge.
The lecturers are experienced actuaries of our four actuarial associations.
In 2004 the European Actuarial Academy (EAA) was founded as an institutional
body for our seminars. We are happy to give you afirst information about the next international
seminar in Riga with focus on risk management.
The feedback of the participants of our former seminars (Budapest/Warsaw/Prague/Salzburg/Ljubljana)
was very clear: Many of you are interested in a more detailed overview
about various aspects of risk management. Indeed, risk management
has taken over a leading role in management and actuarial practise.
So we would like to give you
- a closer look into actuarial work and its future role against
the background of increasing demands on risk managements
- a report on first experiences with the Swiss Solvency Test
- a closer look into risk management in life and motor insurance
